Are You Ready To Get Serious About Your Business?

{Pinterest}

We all start businesses for different reasons.

For me, it was because I wanted a creative outlet, to make a little extra spending money, & because it looked like a fun challenge. What about you?

We also come to a point when we decide we want to get serious about our business. To take it to the next level. To step up our game & be real.

For me that’s been within the past 6 months. I decided I really was enjoying what I was doing. It gives me purpose & satisfaction. I also decided that I wanted it to work. Deep down, I was ready to stop “giving it a try” & really work hard at it.

I began setting higher goals for myself & being determined to reach them. I began investing more into my shop & my products & yes, learning to take better photos. I decided to start reaching out & connecting with others. And most importantly, I decided to stop being afraid to step outside of my comfort zone. It isn’t just going to happen. You have to go get it!

I’ll say it’s working fairly well. I continue to hone in on what I really want. I try to focus myself & stay steady, to work on my business’s brand, & to gain more customers & positive feedback.

Let me tell you, I have days were I think I’m doing the right thing & I have days where I feel like I’m in over my head. We all do. Don’t deny it…if you’re a female then you are emotional, there’s no getting around it…especially if your pregnant! So what do I do about it? I take a small break, refocus, & get back to it. I’ve also learned that I do best if I’m following my goals & not overloading myself.

I do it & I do it with kids. Not always so smoothly, but it’s a constant work in progress. I always try to keep my kiddos & their needs first. Doing that with all the things I really need to be doing with my business can be a challenge, but for the most part it works. Even now as I write, my 19 month old is sitting on my lap, playing with the phone & telling me all the numbers he knows. This is part of homeschooling him. I try to keep them busy & on a decent schedule & I work when I get a chance.

But even with kids, I’m serious about this. I want them to learn to be little entrepreneurs. I want them to be a part of my business always. I know this isn’t the case for everyone, but for us this is how it works.

So tell me, where are you at? Are you still at the beginning stages of your business? Are you still just “trying it out” or have you made the decision to step out of your comfort zone & really get serious? Have you decided to start learning what it is you need to be doing & working hard at achieving those goals that are going to get you to your big dream? Share with me in the comments below!
