I have planned some fabulous giveaways for you this year! They’re going to be great & I’m so excited! Great goodies are in store for you throughout the year… I so can’t wait!

Today’s giveaway is all about SEO & Relevancy & it’s for those of you with Etsy shops.

As you know, Etsy bases its internal search on relevancy… meaning how closely related your product is to what the search keyword is. If someone searches for “red shoes”, you won’t find “vintage cameras” in the search results.

You also want to have your shop optimized for SEO {search engine optimization} because that’s how Google ranks your shop on its search engine, as does other search engine sites like Yahoo & Bing. Believe it or not, there are a lot of people out there who don’t know about Etsy so when they go to search for an online product, they go to Google first. If they search for “red shoes” then they’re gonna get results for “red shoes” from all over the web. You want to be included in the first 1-3 pages because most people aren’t going to search through 20 pages of results to find your shop or product.

SEO & Relevancy can be a tricky thing. For a lot of people it’s just plain confusing & they don’t want to deal with it. But let me tell you… you are missing out if you skip this step!

How to find the above info.

Login to Etsy -> Click “Your Shop” in top right of screen -> Click “Shop Stats” under Orders in left sidebar -> Select “Last Month” from drop down menu -> Scroll down to see Traffic Sources & Keywords.

Entries will be reviewed & two people will be chosen. Winners will be announced here on Sunday, February 12th at 12:00pm EST.
