Hi there! My name is Meagan Visser. I’m a wife to a wonderful, supportive, gentle, steady, handsome man named Dean & we’ve been married for 5 years.

We have 2 perfect little boys – Judah & Isaiah – & we’re expecting our 3rd – Uriah – at the end of this month…around the 20th!
We live in the beautiful Southern Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee on a little piece of land. My husband has his own business with his brother & his dad that supports our family well. He walks to work everyday & he gets to come home for lunch or whenever we need him.
Ahh, the benefits of owning your own business.
Life & How We Live It
I stay at home with our little guys. We play, we learn, & we enjoy each other.
Even though our guys are still very small we home-school them, not officially yet, but they do have schoolwork that they do each day. We make it fun & relaxing. They love it! I want to be the one to instill important values & character into my kids. I want to teach them what they need to know to be successful in life. I want them to value the importance of family. I don’t want them to be skipped or passed by because they don’t understand & it’s time to move on. I want them to not only learn book knowledge, but life knowledge & skills as well. We can do all of this & more through home-schooling. It’s a conviction that my husband & I have & we’re sticking with it.
I find value in living life simply. I don’t like being stressed & I don’t like making things more difficult than they need to be. Maybe that’s why I love the country so much. Life is lived at a much slower pace around here – although it’s starting to speed up a tad! If I were super brave, I’d be tempted to be Amish because I love their simple, handmade lifestyle, but I realize that a lot of things that look great on the outside are totally different on the inside. Plus I like technology too much!

I love the idea of living off the land, making do with what we have, being self-sufficient, working hard to succeed in life, & being happy & healthy with family all around. I wasn’t always this way. My views & opinions have changed over the years & they may continue to change over the many more to come. Only time will tell.
Priorities
Being the kind of wife my husband needs is my #1 priority. I’m his buddy, his helper. We’re a team & we work together. We live, laugh, & love & I couldn’t have it any better.
Being a mother to my children is another priority. Like I said earlier, I’m convicted that this is my job. They’re my children & it’s my job to raise them, train them, guide them, nurture them, etc. etc. I could go on forever.
As of now, this is me…this is who I am. I love my life & I’m thankful & grateful to God that He has brought me to this place, that He’s given me so many blessings. I can never thank Him enough.
I hope this has given you a bit more of a glimpse into my life. Feel free to let me know about yourself in the comments below or you can always email me at meagan @ meaganvisser. com. I love hearing from you & connecting with you!
xo, Meagan

You’re so right Lakshmi. Your business isn’t going to curl up with you to cuddle or give you hugs when you need them. It’s hard not to want to invest so much in something you find enjoyable, as most entrepreneurs do with their businesses, but hopefully family is enjoyable too & worth the effort. They deserve to stay #1! Thanks for your thoughts!
I was just about to ask you when you are due. How exciting for you and your family! Thanks for sharing a little glimpse into your life Meagan and good luck with everything!
